One person not allowed….
…..fortunately, none of us was that person.
First up, a visit to the Manga museum and regrettably the museum shop experience was cut short by the appearance of a street parade outside. We rushed out to watch the elaborately costumed participants being greeted by a strangely silent crowd, who occasionally clapped politely. Odd.
Next, at Owen’s request, we risked groin strains in the Samurai Experience and Museum. The hour of katana training in a yellow leather jump suit was actually quite good fun. Totally authentic I’m sure.
Then to a nearby Izakaya focussed on traditional vegan recipes. It was bloody wonderful and really discrete with only 7 covers at a very narrow bar. Worth the 50min wait. Nice chat to a young Scottish couple who moved to live in Australia just before lock-down.
That’s Kyoto scratched, not nearly enough time, off to Nygoya on the bullet train in the morning.
