PICKERING CASTLE

I was so exhausted after yesterday's trip out I was in bed and asleep by 9.30 pm!!!  However I woke up a couple of hours later coughing  and so the night went on - but I did get, for me, a decent amount of sleep.

I didn't feel too bad this morning, the sky was bright blue, no clouds so  I just had to go out.  We went to Pickering Castle.  Just a ruin run by English Heritage but it has great views (see extras).  I exhausted myself by climbing up there, it's not far but it is when you're not feeling too good.

A started feeling a bit yuk but shrugged it off.  Keeping away from anyone else of course.  After we'd had coffee and home-made savoury scone in Ivy's Cafe in town (difficult when you're wearing a mask but I managed).

We then went to the Beck Isle Museum.  This is a gem of place and highy recommended.  It's like a TARDIS in there.  Such friendly staff/volunteers too - still keeping my distance.

Whilst  in there I began to feel quite bad, so we decided to come back to the cottage.

The photos aren't the best.  I used my wide angle lens and hadn't realised had dirty it had got - I really need to give it a good clean and I wasn't really concentrating too much.

We still have two days to go.  I won't be doing anywhere near as much as I wanted too,  but at least I've done a couple of things that I really wanted too and each day is a plus.

The one thing for sure is we will be back.  Pickering is ideal for us and where we are staying is good, so when we can save up we will be back, hopefully both of us fighting fit next time round.  Don't know when that will be, if we can make it under 12 months we have some tickets we can re-use.

That's all for today, hope you are all well, do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
