Aerating the outfield
I walked down to the village today to get the paper, buy a couple of things in Tesco and pick up a prescription from the pharmacy. I cut round on the footpath that runs past the cricket field and saw this tractor going up and down the outfield. At first I thought it was mowing but as I got closer saw that it was aerating the ground - something I do with a garden fork for our back lawn and, presumably, should think about doing again now. I hope the tractor driver had been instructed not to drill holes into the wicket - or perhaps that is part of the close season maintenance regime. I'm sure someone in blipland will know!
