Here come the boys .. .
An early start filling the grain dryer in the dark this morning. By the time I had winched up the main auger and the sides I was knackered. I had lowered everything down because of Sunday/ Monday's gales incase the whole thing blew over.
By tonight I'd managed 3 batches of barley. It started off at 20.5% moisture and ended up at about 14.5-15%.
Littlemiss home for a visit from Uni at St Andrews,so she drove me round on the quad to check the calving cows tonight. H26 was away by her self when I fed them this morning . Tonight she had calved, a set of twins.
Hopefully they will have sucked, because as we got near her she buggered off at speed with both calves trailing on behind . Will find out in the morning.
These 4 blackie shearlings that were bought at Stirling a fortnight ago obviously know what a bag of feed is. When I stopped to feed the 7 cows with calves in the same field they came across looking for some grub.
Nae luck though.........
