In the leaves at Threave Gardens.

We’d a walk at the Threave Gardens, the autumn colours coming through even on a grey day. My wife chucked up some handfuls, picture with younger son complete with sling; rugby injury. The walled garden and greenhouses were good to see too. We’d a very fine lunch in the cafe.

Afterwards we went to Kirkcudbright. Our younger son and partner know someone who works there, so they liked the idea of a look around. We’d been before, they liked what they saw. We visited the Broughton House gardens too.

Home via the supermarket in Castle Douglas for another dinner at the big table in the kitchen and a night by the fireside.
