My wife and the cautionary buoy.
Our younger son and partner left for home this morning, earlier than originally planned. His injured shoulder is needing reviewed before they go overseas on Friday. He phoned for a hospital appointment yesterday evening, one late afternoon today suited.
The sunshine slowly went after they left. We went for a walk around the village, enjoying the views and properties.
In the afternoon the cloud came down to met the water and the English coast in the distance disappeared in the still gloom. The hill behind my wife is 80m high, the top was in the mist. We walked out on the mudflats at low tide, lowest of the week. It cleared Castle Point. We didn’t venture out to the edge of the tide several hundred metres further out, as would’ve meant coming outwith the immediate environs. The yellow buoy was beyond where we could walk a few days ago. I understand it’s relevant as there’s no channel to pass here, so Caution is required - that would be right here. Boats have to wait on the tide coming in to pass up past our house and beyond.
