Autumn at Harlow Carr
We had some things from Grace to deliver to Otley today and with a good forecast it seemed an ideal time to visit RHS Harlow Carr. Next week will be busy with half term and the leaves and colours will soon be last their best. Think we hit the nail in the head today especially as we arrived to no queue at all for Betty’s!
As we were earlier than usual we’d just planned on having coffee at Betty’s and then trying the Harrogate Arms for lunch as it wasn’t open in our last visit in the Spring. Once in though and so quickly we were seduced by their wonderful sandwiches and stayed for lunch. There was a bit of delay with service so they suffered us another coffee, very nice.
The view from the balcony at Betty’s of the autumn colours in the garden was irresistible and as others were going out to take pictures I did the same - blip.
We walked around and enjoyed all the seasonal colours, it was very warm, no wind unlike yesterday, so had a most enjoyable afternoon.
The toilets in the ground were closed so we had to go to the Harrogate Arms ( two coffees!) and there was a long queue so we were pleased with our decision.
Got a couple of C presents in the Bath house creative exhibition and Chris got a plant that was 50% off in the shop on our way out.
A very successful visit.
