Lizards everywhere!
A few turned up near our table outdoors for a late lunch. Mr PP had just asked what lizards eat when one appeared on our table! So the answer could be omelette and chips! As we'd finished eating we'll never know!
It's been interesting further exploring Funchal and noting the changes. A beautiful old house that had been in a sad state of decay is restored and beautiful. A restaurant we liked, called Riso, is no more. It's now a number of terraced residences overlooking the sparkling Atlantic. And the new Savoy that was a building site when we were last here is now an established (way too big) hotel. Lots more building happened or underway. In the latter category the superb Madeiran symphony orchestra is having a new purpuse-built home.
Lots of changes, but still the same lovely island! Same lovely lizards! And spotted a couple of big Monarch butterflies, flying too high to catch on camera.
