The two Soldier Saints

Saint George and Saint Dimitris are known in Greece as the "Soldier Saints"  and their portraits can be found the walls of chapels and churches, where the citizens and believers sit close to ~ placed there it's like they are close to the people whom they are to protect from whatever evil... St. George kills the dragon, Dimitrios kills gladiator Lyaeos, St. Dimitrios rides a red horse, St. George a white horse 

An icon / fresco I photographed the other day in one of the chapels we'd visited. I passed it from Lightroom, where I used the filter "Lifting Haze" and that took away a lot of the whitewash and magically brings forward the color and painting! Plus I levelled up exposure / light.
