An ordinary life....

Hocus Pocus 3…

Coming soon to a cinema near you!

The nonsense fun continues :-)

D and Jim were meeting D's golf buddies for a round of golf at Kilspindie Golf Club so they set off at 10am. Another sunny day.

LeeAnne, Jane and I had originally planned to go to Alnwick to visit Alnwick Castle and Barter Books but upon further investigation discovered Alnwick Castle is not very accessible so being ever flexible, changed our plan to visiting Abbotsford instead.  I have been before and love it there, LeeAnne and Jane had never been, so that was decision made.

A lovely drive through beautifully autumnal Scottish Borders countryside got us to Abbotsford just in time for lunch.  Absolutely delicious sandwiches.  The chocolate eclairs were a little stale but the sandwiches and the service was so good, we forgave them that.

A quick wander round the gift shop, then we headed to the house.  The surrounding landscape is so lovely and the house so interesting.  The staff are also so lovely and friendly and keen to answer any questions.

Afterwards we wandered in the walled garden.  All the plants are dying down now but it's still a lovely place to be.  It was there I noticed that the batteries in my wheels were getting low.  They haven't been charged since we got here and I've been doing a fair bit of gadding about!!

Back to the gift shop for some purchases and the sales assistants telling us we should be a comedy act!  No idea what gave them that impression!! LOL!

Made a brief stop at Melrose on the way back to Eyemouth.  I opted to wait in the car fearing half way up the Hight Street I would run out of power.

Got back to LeeAnne's about 10 minutes before the golfers returned.  They'd had a good day.  Poor Jim didn't know what he'd eaten for breakfast!  Surrounded by thick Scottish accents at the clubhouse, when his fellow golfers ordered breakfast he merely said "I'll have the same."  He had to ask David on the way back what he'd had.  Turns out it was a roll with square sausage and potato scone :-))  Thankfully he liked it!

Once back, we enjoyed some crisps and nibbles and the final packing for home was done.  Jane and Jim set off not long before us then we said farewell to LeeAnne and Pepsi.  Two fabulous days, which seemed longer with all that we packed in.  So much laughter!  It's definitely the best medicine.

Home not long after 8pm and began the boring task of clearing the garden room for the painters arriving tomorrow morning at 8am!  It is dawning on me that having all the family here on Saturday for dinner and some halloween shenanigans for Esme is not going to happen.  Will think about it overnight but I suspect it will be postponed.

More pics in extras.

PS.Thank you SO much for all the comments, stars and hearts on my 5000th blip yesterday.  I am so touched.  I will get round everyone individually :-)) xx
