For the family

By RonaMac

I’m watching you!

As I arrived to collect Olive today a squirrel ran across the road and into their back garden.

A few minutes later Calvin, the smaller of the two cats was buzzing around the kitchen going from one window to another, then into the utility room. I followed him in and found him on the work surface staring out of the window. As I took a picture of him, the squirrel appeared in shot, stopped and stared in at us. I’m not sure which one of us was most surprised, me probably!!!

B’s wrist that was injured when he fell in the car park almost 3 weeks ago has never really mended, and was much more painful last night and this morning.

I rang the surgery about  11am and was surprised to be given an appointment for him for late afternoon to see a nurse practitioner. We arrived about 10 minutes early, had barely sat down in the waiting area, when we were called through. She was prompt and efficient, and after examining him said that he needed an X-ray.

Whilst we were there I enquired about the consultant’s letter that’s due following a hospital clinic appointment on the 6th Sept. By a stroke of luck it arrived this morning. It hasn’t been copied to B, so I’ve asked if the GP will agree to give us a copy. It does help if the patient knows what’s happening!!!  We had a call shortly after arriving home to say that a copy is at reception ready to collect.

We certainly cannot complain about the speed of service at our GP practice.

We watched the Astro-Chat lecture on comets from Lincoln University early evening. The speaker was Don Kurtz who was in South Africa. We used to attend the sessions when we lived near Lincoln before we moved here. They were always interesting, even though I didn’t understand some of it, Physics is not my subject!!
