…got better

The day started badly as the result of holiday makers in the horrid man’s development next door. Last night at around 10 we found a car had parked itself selfishly blocking access in and out of our house. I went out and took a photo as evidence and left a note on the windscreen to let them know they had blocked all access to two houses and it was not appreciated. I went to bed cross about it and slept only about two hours before waking up having had various horrible dreams in relation to cars, access, and weird people. I didn’t get back to sleep really and fretted about how we would deal with it in the morning. I waited until 8.30 (seemed a reasonable hour) to ask our long term tenant next door if the car belonged to them… it didn’t! So I then went and knocked on the door of holidayers. No answer. Hubby then went over about 8.40 by now to ring the bell and got a man’s voice who sounded apologetic but we waited another 15 minutes for anyone to appear. I needed to go out so had the car waiting to go. Eventually a woman appeared and was not apologetic one bit, just kept saying someone had parked a car in the cottages allotted space so she ‘had to park it somewhere’ oh and ‘you knock on my door at 8oclock when I’m on holiday for god’s sake!!’ Accused us of being inconsiderate … became very hot under her wet hair (yes she decided to make us wait while she had a shower) and cursed us in a Latin tongue… all most unpleasant before breakfast.
As it was I was glad we hadn’t had a medical emergency or a fire as we could not get our car out to get away. All very challenging.. but better forgotten as she and her family have gone… never to return I hope!
A quiet day to recover after that and in the afternoon I went through a drawer I possibly hadn’t really sorted for 30 years!!! It was stuffed with lots of my girls bits and bobs. We did laugh!! This one was titled ‘dad wearing winter clothes’ drawn by my youngest aged 4
