Travelling north
I’m back blipping because I didn’t have spare time and reception at the same time yesterday.
We started the day having a walk (extras of some kangaroo paw and native gardens) then caught the XPT train from Taree to Brisbane. Unfortunately the train stops at Casino and you need to connect with a bus. How ridiculous that two of the biggest cities in Australia don’t have a train service between them. It was a bit of a bother having to change but was made worse as the bus was so uncomfortable we felt like sardines all squashed up. Not enough room for us to sit side by side and we aren’t huge people. The bus driver was the crankiest person I have met all year but I won’t go into detail, would take too long.
There is a one hour time difference between the states so we found we had arrived in central Brisbane at 10.30 and needed an Uber to Bob’s other Sisters place out near the ocean. We don’t use them much and all the credit card details needed updating. Bob chose a shared ride which was cheaper but we ended up with him and 2 young ladies almost sitting on his lap in the back seat - it broke the ice and we all laughed and chatted for the ride. The car was tiny.
Anyway after a 12 hour journey we were settled into our accommodation for the next few days. Will be nice to have some time with family up this way before heading home next Monday.
The main flower blip is a hippeastrum found out in the Taree garden.
