Just two months until
the big day - are you ready
for Christmas this year?

We were up all too early and waiting for the breakfast bar to be open at 6 AM. I was dying for coffee and managed almost 4 this morning. I took a shot out our third floor window looking west to the neighbourhood around the hotel.

We filled the gas tank, then headed off from Twin Falls, Idaho to Layton, Utah in beautiful sunshine on highway 84..

Our first rest stop gave us this information about Lake Bonneville. It is difficult to imagine what the landscape looked like then. Now, it's juniper and rabbit bush in an arid climate.

The afternoon became rather complex when my new GPS failed to zero in on Layton, Utah. It kept looping back to a wrong city name. I had to reprogramme it three times before it finally gave us the correct results. In the meantime, it had us goiing iin circles.  Very frustrating!!

When we'd landed in our motel in Layton, Utah, we wandered a short distance down the street to a Cracker Barrel restaurant for dinner. I always like the collection of rocking chairs out on the porch. You can try your hand at a game of checkers. The inside of the restaurant is like an old general store. We each chose the meatloaf for dinner and had no room for dessert.

It's an early evening once again. I look forward to making more use of my camera tomorrow.
