A Scoundrel in Kendal
The last day before a week off was surprisingly busy, but I was kind of grateful as it meant that the day passed quickly.
I popped up to Asda to get some supplies, and was slightly concerned about the length of time one occupant had been left in the car (no doubt with the promise that the driver would “only be a minute”) - see extra.
M’boy was off already due to an inset day prior to the half-term break, but when he returned to mine around lunchtime, he had a friend in tow with him, which was really nice to see.
They hung out for a bit and then were told to get some air for a little while and just as they returned, The Youngest rocked up with a big grin and a massive hug for me.
With things winding down in the afternoon, I - regrettably - finally finished the novel I had been trying to draw out for the longest time; A Gentleman in Moscow, which I would recommend to anyone.
The children had been fantastic, so as an early half term treat, we strolled into town, laughing and chatting about half-term plans and ended up in McDonald’s. I honestly don’t know why we go there, as the food is terrible and the ambience appalling. The Count certainly, would have no part of it.
With the light fading on our walk home, I was able at least to get some shots of the lights on the pathway, which The Youngest strode into blissfully unaware.
Nine consecutive days without work. Perfect.
Have a good weekend, all!
