I didn’t sleep well last night, maybe it’s because I slept so well the previous night.  I woke later than planned, and more tired than  I should have been.  In total contrast to yesterday, it was a grey day.  I had planned to go for a run this morning, but that didn’t happen.  Later in the morning I took my mum and dad into town so they could do a few errands.  I also made a few purchases – all food though.  We came home for lunch and my dad suggested a wee trip to a garden centre.  I duly obliged, though I wasn’t very keen on our destination.  However, as yesterday, we had a scenic drive there and admired all the autumnal colours.  The garden centre sells a lot of stuff – that they like to browse, though they rarely buy anything!  Given the time of year, there weren’t even many plants to look at.  We spent most of our time in the café – which has amazing cakes.

We took a different route home, and when I got stuck behind a  very slow moving tractor, I pulled over into a layby so we could admire the view for a few minutes, in the hope that the tractor would have reached his destination, or at least got off the road we were on.   It seemed to do the trick, as the rest of our journey home was smooth.  Once home, I went out for a walk, partly to check out a new footpath in their village and partly to get some steps as I hadn’t move much all day.

I said my farewells, then headed off back down the road and got home around 9pm.  The journey was quite smooth and with less traffic on the roads, there were no big queues at the roadworks.

I walked round the block to stretch off after sitting in the car for a couple of hours, then watched a wee bit of TV – but I was weary.

This is a view to the hills from the layby on a rather grey afternoon.
