Larches of the Lotchental

We walked above the Lotchen Valley in the Haute Valais today, an easy path in the larches but so beautiful. The far Col of the Lotchenlucke (left on the photo) always visible, pulling us in its direction. I had not been back to this valley since my first big ski mountaineering expedition in 1981! We had mixed weather today and peaks like the Stattelhorn, 3744m, in extra, would appear briefly then disappear equally quickly.
