Pericnik Waterfall

Our last full day of photography was a bit disappointing as far as the weather was concerned. We had a lot of low cloud and drizzly rain.

No dawn shoot today but after breakfast we left for Pericnik Waterfall which was quite a steep climb up the side of a mountain. Once at the top, I'm not sure whether it was rain or spray but it was difficult to keep lenses clear. From the top we went round the back of the waterfall and down the other side. My main blip is taken from a viewpoint on the way down. Even with my wide angle lens I had to take four images to blend to get this photo and I hope you won't be able to see where I've had to clone out water drops and smears.

Next we went up the Vrsic Pass on a road built by mostly Russian prisoners of 1st world war. This little church was built by these POWs and is now a national monument along with the road the built.

Our next stop was further up the pass into the Julian Alps where Prisank mountain has a small window formation. Unfortunately, it was covered by cloud but still made a great view with the beautifully coloured larch trees. We made a short stop at a different viewpoint at Bled Lake before returning to our hotel and then going out for a lovely meal.
