Last Sunrise of British Summer
Sunrise is at 7:55 am in this part of the country, which meant I could do the supermarket shop and still be in position to take this image. It was a beautiful sunrise on a calm morning, which allowed for the water to remain mirror-like and provide these reflections.
A quiet morning, preparing a carbonnade of beef for dinner guests later in the day. I did pop out to watch the local team play rugby on the playing fields. A rather one sided affair with the most notable thing being the female referee. Her presence had something of a calming affect on the players with much less choice language and a certain deference to her decisions not seen when a male referee took control. One comical moment was when the referee found herself directly in the path of an on-charging forward of the home team, who unceremoniously dumped her on her back. It was amazing how quickly he stopped and was most concerned that she was alright afterwards. Not sure the same behaviour would have been exhibited had it been a man!
