Balls!
Saturday: I am feeling a lot better… almost human again. The rain is back, and it’s forecast to be cold and misty for the rest of the day. V is off on a jolly with her old school friends—they’re staying at an Airbnb near Guildford for a girly weekend; Milo is out for the night at a Halloween party in Canterbury sporting a pretty good Harry Potter costume; Dash baked fantastic bread.
Still-life photography remains my flavour of the month. I bought one of those big glass balls for a prop and a cheap LED light pad designed for diamond painting, whatever that is! For the background, I pulled up a photograph of the evening sky that I shot in Herne Bay years ago. The ball really did not want to keep still on the smooth surface of the light pad… to fix this, I lowered one of the lighting arms just enough to touch the top of the sphere gently. This was easy to remove later with generative fill, but apart from that, the image was made entirely with practical effects.
