Poppies on Parade
There's been a big push in Shepshed this year to make and show poppies for Remembrance Day. Lots of ladies in the town, I assume it's mostly ladies, have been knitting and crocheting, and local children have been drawing and colouring poppies for display in local shops. The results are quite stunning as I hope you can see from this display at the town council offices. One of these days I'll get down to the park where more poppies adorn the gates opposite the war memorial as well as the park gates.
I don't know why there's been such a huge push on poppies this year, but I expect I'll find out.
Photo taken from Cecily as we, and Basil, turned into Lambert Road en route to Anson Road to leave some magazines at Fred's.
I insisted on cooking the prawns tonight as I'd got fed up with burnt offerings. They were duly succulent.
oh, and if you think the photo looks a bit blurred, it's because I used a lens baby lens at a very wide aperture.
