Shaggy Parasol
I slept in a while on this chilly Sunday morning. Hubby was up and the coffee aroma filled the house by 7:00. He went to the convenience center and picked up a few groceries while I had breakfast. I prepared a pork roast for the crock pot, cut up cabbage to sauté and washed the sweet potatoes. Since Kristen has invited us over, we’ll have pork dinner for tomorrow and lunch for Tuesday already made. We were eating lunch when Parker showed up unexpectedly to introduce us to a new friend who happens to be a gorgeous, polite young lady. He wanted to tell me he took her to Mass today. (smile!). His boss at the golf course told him Peyton really liked him and he should ask her out. So he did. I picked all my ripe and green tomatoes today. We have a freeze warning for tonight. What a large harvest. The green ones will be put in individual small brown paper bags for ripening. Hoping the kids will want the ripe ones because we won’t be home to eat them. I gathered the spoiled ones to take to the organic debris bin. These mushrooms are growing in the grass clippings pile. Seek says it’s a new species for me. It’s time to get ready to head to Kristen’s. Her smoked dinner sounds delish. Wishing you an enjoyable evening. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “The mushroom is the elf of plants, at once magical and mysterious." - George Carlin
