Camellia
Our goal today was to get everything ready for our departure on Wednesday. We almost did it. We realized there are a few things that must be last minute. Hubby vacuumed all the floors and then washed dishes. Renee and I traded vegetable beef soup for half of the German pork roast I made yesterday. She took all the grape tomatoes and those that have started to ripen. That was a relief. The birds had devoured their seeds. As I filled the feeders again, I noticed a few camellia buds had bloomed. There were tiny bees on a couple blooms but the frost had wilted them. This one was much prettier. When I went back inside, I started my two loads of laundry. While looking for my semi formal outfit for the banquet, I found a pile of dresses that will never fit me again. I photographed the lot and sent them out to family members. Then I put together my outfits for each event at the ship’s reunion and packed same. It will be three days of constantly changing outfits. We have Mass twice while we are there. At least we can dress down (jeans) while we are with the TN kids/grands. Hubby is really looking forward to seeing so many of his Navy friends. It’s been over 30 years since he saw one guy. We will be going out to a quiet dinner with him, his wife another couple who hubby reconnected with a few years ago. John and Bev have since moved to Southern Maryland. I still have to dust the entire house (my least favorite house chore). I met hubby at the car mechanic’s shop. They will replace what, if anything, needs replacement. Tomorrow, we will pick my mother up for lunch and then take her to her physical appointment. The living rosary that we were taking her to, has been postponed. Since my sister was able to get our mother’s appointment for tomorrow, things have worked better. We brought enough leftovers from Kristen’s last night that I am finished cooking until after we get back home. Ahhh. I hope you have some unscheduled free time in your near future. Stay safe.
