Embracing the chaos!

This is one of the things that Joe Cornish said to me when we were talking about photographing woods. He has done some joint work with Simon Baxter in woodlands.

I drove to the Irthing Gorge Woods near Gilsland this morning. At first there was lovely dappled light and the woods were just magical. The sun soon disappeared and I realised I should have set off earlier......

I had a marvellous time and it was hard to choose an image. See extras for more. I think that my main blip does typify the idea of accepting the chaos in all its glory!

I had to treat very gingerly because the wood is full of old branches and loads of wet leaves. My hip played up after a while, so I will have to keep on resting it. 

This afternoon I started knitting a romper suit for a baby with a new yarn. It's lovely to knit.

Margret continues to be much the same in hospital, except that she now has an infection and is on antibiotics. She is on the waiting list for a bed in Hexham General. There has been several messages and phone calls about her today.
