Sunset by train
We did not have one of the usual review meetings today. While I was on holiday last week, the development team discussed it and felt that once a fortnight would be a better use of our time. So, a week off from looking at charts. There were plenty of other meetings, but I am writing up some of the information I'd been given yesterday so that we have some new tickets for the team to review when they are ready.
At lunchtime, I only had half an hour, so I cheated with an unhealthy microwave pasta meal. It was quite filling, so I didn't snack for the afternoon, but I don't think that takes away from the ultra-processed nature of the meal.
I just missed a train into Waterloo, which meant my connection to the Portsmouth Harbour train was tight. My inbound train was two minutes late, which gave me sufficient time to buy a coffee before walking up to the first carriage, where I managed to secure one of the remaining window seats as the whistle was blown to signal our departure from Platform 11.
As the train sped through south London's built-up settlements and out into the commuter belts of Woking and Guildford, the sunset viewed through the window was incredible. Although we were speeding along, I tried to capture a picture. I like the resulting image.
Many people ran off the train when we arrived, but I strolled behind them and boarded the FastCat, which was quite busy this evening. PY met me at the pier head, and we walked to the flat, where we raided the freezer to find enough things to make fish and chips. I didn't mention I'd eaten similarly last night.
