Snack stop
My route to the office via the Caffe Nero at Shepherd's Bush has become my default. On arrival, I'll settle at a desk—most often on the same bank of desks I head to each week—before heading to the canteen on the fifth floor for toast. Then, I have a regular set of morning meetings, which I do in one of the small 'phone booths' so that I don't have to wear headphones to be on the video conference.
I'd originally planned the final meeting of the day to last thirty minutes, but we kept talking, and nobody threw us out of the room. We eventually concluded after ninety. I had lots of notes for things to work on next for the team. When I emerged, I found an almost empty office, so I gathered my things and headed out.
I glanced at Dear Grace as I passed but couldn't immediately see anybody. I didn't want a late night, so I didn't look too closely. I headed to Westfield, where I wanted to look at the recently updated iPad mini. I ended up sitting in the food hall and ordering one. I wandered some of the shops while I waited for my order to be processed and then went to pick up my new device.
On the way back, I stopped for the second time today at the Caffe Nero for a coffee before boarding an Overground train to Clapham and a SWR connection home. PY is heading to The Island tonight, so I had the house to myself. I decided to get a cod bites dinner from the chip shop and settle in to watch the concluding episodes of a series of Bosch that I have yet to complete. When it started, I realised I'd forgotten the plot of the series, but I persevered to the end when several things fell into place.
While I was watching, I was simultaneously setting up my new device. When that was done, I wasn't quite ready for bed, so I started on the new series of Heartstopper. It remains really well done. I had to force myself to stop after three episodes as it had gone midnight.
