The forecast was for drizzle most of today so yesterday I mowed the lawn.
As it happens, the only drizzle we had was when I decided to finish off planting the wallflowers so I donned a gardening coat and cap but it only lasted a few minutes.
Afterwards, the skies cleared and we had some lovely late sunshine. This was taken at about 16:20, with the sun starting it's rapid descent into evening.
17:40 I set off again, on the bike, to do another stint at the poppy appeal stand at TESCO. Must remember to take a photo of my bike tomorrow to ensure I have a fabulous blip!! During this time I have a 'Lest We Forget' flag flying on my bike to remind everyone what time of year it is, although the RBL and the Riders Branch are out collecting donations for the poppy appeal all year round.
Some people ask if the donations go to help veterans - Yes it does, every penny raised for the Poppy Appeal goes into the fund for helping veterans in so many ways. None of it goes into the running of the RBL itself, that is mostly funded by membership fees and donations to the RBL.
