Now I Wonder What I Did With MY Clippers?

It happens to all of us. We walk into a room and then stand for five minutes trying to remember what we're doing there.

This chap seems to have come to harvest the grapes but can't remember what he did with his clippers. Perhaps he's lost his head as well...

Memory has been a big subject around here lately. John can remember the names of all his friends from elementary school, but not always what he had for lunch, a source of great frustration to him and bemusement for both of us. He wants to go around the garden with a map of all the plants so that we can review what they are called and he can write them down. Sometimes it can be contagious. He'll say, ''I can't remember the name of that street. It starts with a 'P'" Then even though I know that it doesn't start with a 'P' I can't for the life of me think of the name of it either. Then we both obsess about it until, hours later, apropos of nothing, one of us will say, 'It's Brookwood. The name of that street is Brookwood.' and the other one, having forgotten the whole conversation will just sit there looking blank.

An interesting fact about the brain is that short term memory is stored in the hippocampus where those memories are organized and diffused throughout other parts of the brain. 

I drove across town to our 'new' pharmacy. There are closer ones to us , but this is where everything was sent when our old, independently owned pharmacy closed. I tried to find out if I could get all my prescriptions refilled at the same time, but this seems to be one of those things that is almost impossible to accomplish. I was referred to someone who might be able to give me an answer, but he was busy and I doubted that he could help, so I took my prescription and left. 

The dishwasher isn't fixed. We ran it for the first time since the guy came, declared it fixed and took $136 for his efforts, and it did exactly the same thing. They're coming back on Wednesday. With any luck they'll send somebody else....

We've had sunshine, fluffy white clouds and rain today. Sometimes all at the same time. It's been quite pretty. I imagine there was a rainbow somewhere, but I didn't see any in my travels.
