An ordinary life....

A grand day out...

Not.

Thankfully I felt a little bit better this morning.  Temp still up but not as bad as yesterday.  Phoned the health centre at 8am to request a telephone chat with a GP.  Received a call back 20 minutes later from the Senior Nurse Practitioner and after a short discussion she made an appointment for me to be seen in person by a GP at 2pm.

Then messaged Natalie to offer my apologies and advise we would not be able to go to hers for dinner this evening.  This get together at her and Jim's with Ele, Kenny, Alan and Gail has been in the diary for ages and we've been really looking forward to it.  It's ages since the eight of us have managed to get together at the same time!  Blooming' typical!

Once D was sure I felt well enough to not need him for a few hours, he headed to Edinburgh with my wheelchair to hopefully get it fixed.  He said he would be back in plenty of time to take me to my GP appointment.

Unfortunately my wheelchair couldn't be fixed there and then and a new cable has to be ordered.  They are having it sent directly to us as it's a fairly straightforward job to change it and that will save some time.  Hopefully we will have it before Thursday otherwise my plan to go with D to Birmingham to pick up the new car will be scuppered.

D texted to say he was on his way back from Edinburgh and I was worried he wouldn't be back in time for my appointment.  Then I realised my watch was still an hour behind.  I hadn't worn a watch yesterday so hadn't changed it!  LOL!  Finding I had an hour to spare was a great relief!

D of course, arrived back in plenty of time!

Had a thorough check up from the GP.  Dip test shows UTI.  My temp is now on the high side of normal, so that's an improvement.  BP normal. Heart rate slightly elevated but within normal for fighting an infection.  She has prescribed a longer course of Nitrufurantoin and will let me know later in the week if I need to change to a different antibiotic.

Definitely felt better than yesterday but still very tired.  Half thought we might make it to Natalie and Jim's but in the end I just didn't have the energy to go upstairs, get changed and put makeup on, so an evening of crochet, rubbish tv and fajitas for dinner.

On our way back from the health centre I thought our street was looking very pretty in its autumn finery, so a very lazy blip through the car window.
