Monday
Feeling a little jaded on waking up having stayed awake a lot longer than usual. The rain hammered in the roof and drowned out classic FM, waterproof kit donned we headed out, Vivienne was sheltering in the barn with Maisie sat by her side. We had a brief chat before continuing on our soggy journey, we didn’t take a ball today which helped keep Dippy’s concentration on my commands, He’s coming on leaps and bounds:) it was a lot more peaceful in the woods and we did a whole lap with Dippy’s nose to the ground on the trail of pheasants. I had prepared Amadeus with towels blankets for our soggy return and a warm shower was very welcome.
An appointment with my GP mid morning to discuss on going issues from my accident in February went well. The Fleur de lys is an internal window in the surgery waiting room.
Dippy entertained the customers in the Bickford centre a well supported over sixties community centre where a warm welcome plus drink and some biscuits can be found for a pound.
A visit to the commons afterwards where I showed Dippy the place where Barney my first ever Collie was laid to rest back in 2019. Walking back through the pannier market I came across some hand knitted feet warmers which when putting them on my hand seemed very warm and comfortable.
The afternoon was spent with an appointment in Barnstaple, the cash point and fruit shopping.
I popped down to pay my Campsite fees, and Vivienne invited us in to enjoy a large pot of tea and some of the tropical fruit cake she took out of the Aga having poured the water on the tea.
The two canines played in silence together in Maisie’s Aga bed!
An hour and a half later I prized myself up from the comfort of the warm kitchen and sorted Dippy’s supper, tonight he was fortunate to have sharks fin braised with the head of a pollock mixed in with his normal food. I had another portion of Sunday’s beef stew:) some sewing and reading with our feet ip polished off another day.
Zzzzzz
