Mince pies

Hopefully, yesterday's visit from the fridge engineer means that I will not be throwing out much more food that gets unintentionally frozen when it is not supposed to. One consequence of that, and because we will be on holiday next week, is that we're trying to limit the amount of fresh produce in the fridge. The final leap from that logic is that nothing is readily accessible for lunch, so I went across to Greggs and bought a toastie. I am sure I must have been able to find something in the cupboard, but the lure of something warm was too great.

While waiting for my toastie to be grilled, I noticed the mince pies out on the counter. I already have my Christmas countdown calendar, so I am not complaining that we're seeing Christmas goodies seep into everyday life, but it did surprise me to see them. The calendar says there are 77 days to go.

In the evening, I went to my Tai Chi class, and for once, getting up and going out didn't seem like a chore at the end of the day.
