Spanner In The Works! Or Screw It?
Pat continues to be busy decorating for Halloween. Apparently a significant holiday in America.
We have decorations for just about every celebration of the year. And why not?
Pat had uncovered a Pumpkin lamp complete with cut out face and powered by batteries. Only it did not illuminate when switched on.
It soon became apparent that the easiest was to remove the somewhat corroded battery holder and fittings. This is held in place by three screws. The first two came out easily and third remained firmly stuck. No matter which type of screwdriver bit was applied. Eventually I removed the hole battery assembly using the force known as brute. The recalcitrant third screw was then removed with pliers.
I then re-engineered the whole assembly by binning it and putting in place a holder for rechargeable battery operated flame effects lights.
Much simpler, altogether.
Today’s photo shows a part of my Mastergrip Toolcase purchased from Costco nearly 20 years. Worth every penny.
And the illuminated Pumpkin lamp? I will photograph it for Halloween on the day.
In the evening we watched “Strictly Come Dancing’ while enjoying our evening libations, as cocktails are referred to in parts of Scotland.
