Fair

The end-of-sprint meetings all happened today. We have plenty of work scoped, so there was nothing urgent, and that's a more relaxing way to end the sprint.

My defrosted pasta lunch reminded me how much I liked the cauliflower-based sauce I made a few months ago. I am working through portions of meals in the freezer to help clear them out in preparation for the new fridge (whenever that will be). We tried last night to use the offer provided by the insurance cover. None of the available appliances on the offer match the dimensions we need for it to fit the built-in space and existing doors, so we're back to looking at full-price units. They are all described differently, so it takes work to compare dimensions.

At the end of the day, I chatted with one of our engineers. I didn't get out for some exercise as I'd planned, so I combined the exercise, posting a letter, picking up some vegetables, and walking to Wimbledon Chase to meet PY off the train. I messaged to make sure he knew I was coming. As I was almost there, he called to remind me his trains are suspended from Wimbledon Chase this week, and he's using Raynes Park.

I turned around. We decided to meet in Mora Meza for a drink and some baba ghanoush, so my mistake turned into a lovely evening.

We walked home via Bushey Road to look at the fair that appeared on the fields. It's all bright lights and looks quite impressive from a distance. The close-up picture looks less impressive than my imagination thought it would. But when we looked over the fence, we couldn't see a single customer inside. I don't know if it was not yet open or if it was just deserted. We went home for dinner.

There was a similar fair in 2002.
