It begins!
I went out to rake some of the leaves from the bed under the Magnolia trees so that they would be all in the lawn ready for the grass cutting but Chris felt it was too damp even though the leaves felt quite dry to me.
So we decided I would rake and he would scoop the leaves into bags.
In the blip you can see the top lawn with its sprinkling of Oak leaves and the lovely yellow of the Hamamelis leaves still to drop. I don’t mind any of these colourful leaves but for all the Magnolias are magnificent in Spring their fallen leaves are dark and unpleasant to my eyes and seem slippery when wet so I always rake them up.
Two bags filled and taken to the tip but as you can see there are lots still to come. The Susan Magnolia is still predominantly green. There will be more down over the next week or so, maybe some will get mown with the grass but there will definitely more raking and bagging to do!
