City visit
On Saturday I received two parcels from Waterstones - of the same book!
My error I think and this is one of the problems of pre orders though my account only showed one book waiting for despatch.
Still of course I didn’t want two copies of the same book (for Jude) and a girl on the end of the phone said it was no problem if I could show them the original email order! Luckily I did find it.
A trip on the bus then after this morning’s Pilates class to visit Waterstones in Bradford. This is no hardship as it is housed in the old Wool Exchange, a great building as is this one in the blip in Centenary Square - the Town ( City) Hall modelled on the campanile in Florence. We had a coffee in Waterstones which was impressively busy it being half term, and then went to a couple of shops in the Broadway shopping centre, now bereft of it’s M&S!
Getting back to Nelson Street where you now have to catch the bus (the bus/rail interchange being under repair as it was made out of the wrong sort of concrete) entailed negotiating a myriad of pedestrian walk ways not always going the way we wanted.
This upheaval is due to Bradford being the City of Culture in 2025. Whether all will be completed by then remains to be seen as it is now only 2 months away!
Still the city centre here with the fountains playing is looking good in the sun.
