Burrard Bridge
I'm quite fond of bridges. Seattle has quite a few, but Vancouver has more. I snapped this from the car as we were leaving Vancouver at 7:08 AM (says the camera.) I really like the art deco look and the prows of the 2 boats, one on the left of Captain Vancouver, early British explorer and another of Harry Burrard-Neale also of the Royal Navy. Captain Vancouver named Burrard Inlet in his honor in 1792. The bridge was built in 1930-32. Here is the whole bridge from English Bay
We left early for the ferry so we could do the grocery shopping before the ferry to our "home place" We're happy to be here, except as we rounded the bend to our bay, we saw a sailboat at our dock. So.....we had visitors for the day. She did make dinner (even tho she was not well and didn't have much) and he did help get the big box with the grill from our car to boat to cabin. (I appreciated that!)
There are a few photos from Vancouver on flickr.
