Marathon

Starting point: Akbuk, Turkey. 

After a day spent closing down the villa and putting finishing touches on packing and preparation, Mark arrived just before 18.00 and after some of this and that stuff, by 18.30 we were on our way. Other than petrol and brief loo breaks for the woofers Rufus and Babe, we didn't stop until we reached Igoumenitsa on Saturday morning. In fact, this photo of Ipsala - border down between Turkey and Greece - was taken in the small hours of 26th, but as we had not stopped since leaving home, it felt like the same day although of course Google Maps timeline cuts off the journey at midnight (extra) but I took no photo during our night time drive until Ipsala. We were almost continually in the car for around sixteen hours and I'm not sure I'll ever be able to walk properly again!
