A Day At A Time.

Reservoir Dog

Next stop was only a short hop down the road to Arroyo, on the banks of the huge reservoir Ebro. This was created under Franco and involved flooding the entire valley and all the villages therein - with a few inhabitants too, I shouldn't wonder.

I have to say, His Nibs has been brilliant the entire trip, not making a single complaint so far. All the stopping places have been chosen with him in mind: rural settings with good dog-walking nearby.

And this was just the ticket. The waters were quite choppy here, but further back near the hotel, which was a beautiful old house and very comfortable, some youngsters were swimming.

We dined alone and in great style in the hotel and decided to come back again. Perhaps in the winter when there will be plenty of snow and good skiing nearby. One forgets how high most of Spain is when you are away from the coast.

Our greatest altitude was over 1000 m (I forget exactly where) and the highest temperature about 36 degrees.
