Lily The Pink

We took His Nibs for a morning constitutional in the cool just after the sun rose. The waters of the reservoir were calm and blue and these lilies were a beautiful sight.

After breakfast, we set off on a longish haul of five hours to our next watering hole. Less an oasis in the desert of the Extremaduras, more of a hick town claiming between zero and one horse to its name. However, Zarza de Granadilla did provide us with a very comfortable bungalow with a swimming pool right outside the door. The temperature was rising rapidly and visions of cooling water had been floating in front of our eyes like a mirage.

Dinner tonight was in a typically Spanish bar. I doubt they get many tourists here, not for more than one night at least, but the food was good, simple and cheap. Change from 25 euros including drinks.

No reason to return here, but it was a very comfortable stop on the road to Cordoba. Oh, and there was no hot water in the bathroom, but we didn't mind too much. The cold water was not exactly icy!
