It was a gorgeous day to be outside so I carried on digging the trench to bury the cable that will eventually take electricity to my shed at the end of the garden. A bonus is that I extracted skeins and skeins of convolvulus root. I know it will fight back but I might have the upper hand for six months or so. I also dug out a lot of figwort. It needed cutting back so I didn't mind being fairly brutal. But I was sad that the sedum flowers didn't like me being on their patch; at dusk I stopped and brought the broken stems indoors and put them into a vase.
I've done the easier half of the trench now. The rest will involve more negotiating with plant roots, friendly and otherwise. And fighting with rose thorns.
I wasn't expecting mist this evening.
