Mostar helping hands

On Saturday, something went clunk in the van - not in a good way. So we were off to the garage first thing - and the after failing at number one, we went on to number two. They did try their best. They told us the problem - broken leaf plate (apparently part of the suspension), - and did do a search for someone who had one in stock. Again a no.
So back to the campsite for tea and a think . I was on the verge of checking our breakdown recovery policy - but knew it didn’t cover us in Bosnia. Gloom.
But, the campsite boss took up the challenge and did a few phone calls. An hour later he had two contacts for us to visit. The first was the scrapyard - where a rather rusty (I’m not complaining) leaf plate was handed over in exchange for €€. Then off up a very steep and narrow road to a little garage with smiling mechanics waiting for us. We left them to it, hoping all would work out, and had a couple of hours wandering round Mostar. On our return, the guys looked very pleased with themselves and handed over our repaired van. Such a relief!
What a great bunch of people. We really wouldn’t have managed without the help of our campsite boss who definitely went above and beyond the call of duty!!
