Bearsted Fireworks

An exceptional display of fireworks this evening organised by the Parish Council. Some 20 minutes of continuous display as ABBA duelled with Taylor Swift. Something for us oldies as well as the congested. Perhaps 5000 people watching, it was hard to tell.

It was a climactic conclusion to an otherwise uneventful day. Well, I say uneventful, there was some tension this morning when we had the Gas Safety Certificate inspection and service carried out on the central heating in Doreen’s house. Had it failed the gas would have been turned off and we’d have to find alternatives for the tenants at short notice.

In the end it passed so that’s a relief for us and the tenants. Such an important test to do. The lease comes to an end in April so we will be putting the house on the market after that - and long held ambitions will begin to be realised.
