Inevitable Parisian Blip!
A grand day of reconnecting with the Paris of our previous visits over the years.
Meandering through street markets. The fresh produce reminded us of what Brexit has denied us in our own tired fruit and veg aisles.
The areas we walked through today spoke little or no English. My school boy French was even complimented as we supped cafe au lait and tartine in the shadow of Eiffel’s tower and the imposing Invalides.
By contrast around the Seine and the Tower it was mega busy. Like Edinburgh Castle you can no longer walk near it without queuing and paying!
We enjoyed our baguettes sitting in the warm November sunshine on one of the famous quays.
The most moving moment of the day was standing by the Statue of Liberty flame, replicating the one held high in New York, coincidentally now above the underpass where Diana Princess of Wales tragically died in 1997.
The Champs Elysees was like Oxford Street on steroids! The cobbles were as wobbly as I remember them from many a TV marathons and cycle events.
The rubber tyred driverless Metro whisked us back to the hotel.
15k steps clocked before we headed out to a nearby bohemian restaurant for a delicious evening meal.
