Its head was hidden
I woke far earlier than needed. Breakfast at the 'Resort', where we stayed and had the conference, wasn't available until well after 0700. Could, and should Have had a walk. Instead, I started on Friday's Guardian cryptic crossword. With little success. I was distracted at one point when a Kereru swooped past. It alighted in the top branches of a dead tree a fair way off and downhill towards the Waitemata Harbour.
Unfortunately its head is obscured by a branch, which I didn't notice until well after the bird had gone.
The attempt at resurrecting city wide gatherings was partially successful in that the attendees were not all from Counties Manukau. But only a few od us were from one or other of the two other Administrative areas. Nevertheless it was a good start.
