Poppies on the Postbox

This wonderful wreath of knitted/crocheted poppies has appeared on the postbox at the end of Fairway Road. A stunning red and lots of work involved. In fact, many ladies have been knitting poppy. decorations all year to emphasise that Shepshed does not forget.

The previous postbox topper was a plea to onlookers not to forget the plight of those with kidney disease which the topper maker has.

As for November's topper, some unthinking person has plonked a child's toy or 'blankie' on top which rather takes away from the impact.

Basil and I Cecilied on to the park where there are lots more poppies.
