Shield Bug

What a pretty one. I've been in Glasgow today doing some work with my son in his garden. At his birthday in June I said I'd give him a hand, plant a few perennials etc. Here we are in November and we've only just found the time to do it. Happy birthday T! 

We've both worked hard. T has a big garden which takes a lot of work. We had a great time ruthlessly cutting back, weeding, tying up and generally sorting out. Spring bulbs were planted. 

This shield bug was in the compost bin. There was an attractive, and attractively small, spider too. We had lunch together and it's now dark so I'm heading home. Using the train which is always my preference. 

Meanwhile my grandson and his mum were at the Singing Kettle, a show which his dad also used to enjoy.
