Dean Cemetery

I've been in Edinburgh this morning visiting the Dean Cemetery. The blip is the grave of my great grandfather, WSH 23.04.1845 - 07.08.1923. At the time of his death it was a fashionable burial ground and probably still is. The staff of Dean Cemetery have been wonderfully helpful to me and today one of the grounds staff took me straight to the grave. It's a fancy headstone and a far cry from WSH's humble origins in Kirriemuir

Because it was a prestigious cemetery there are many illustrious citizens of Edinburgh here interred. As  this is a photo site I've added an extra of David Octavius Hill RSA the famous photographer.

I'm waiting for my train home now having already walked 10km round central Edinburgh and I still have a yoga class to come.
