Marjorie's ramblings

Autumn in my garden

All of the ash leaves and most of the beech leaves have fallen, but a few twinkling leaves are hanging on to the birch tree.

It was a heavy, grey day. The sort where everything outside seems to go silent.

I had a lazy morning, then drove to meet Kay, Eric, Marie and Tony for Sunday lunch. We wanted to support a community venture that opened recently.

We had a good time, but they will need to step up to another level if they are to survive. So many pubs offer excellent Sunday lunches. We felt really sorry for them, including the young lad who served at our table. The beef was tough for some, but not all, of us.

I won’t say where we were because I don’t want to spread a bad word when they are just taking their first tentative steps.

Back here I had a good phone call with Margret. She has developed a rare movement disorder which can occur after strokes and which makes life very challenging for her. Hopefully it will recedeTypically she is looking ahead to a music holiday she has booked for February. I admire her spirit, always.

No news about yesterday’s teenager.

I see that my Mart photo from Friday made it to the Popular pages.Thank you all for your support.
