Haltwhistle Annual Art and Craft Fayre
My friend, Ian Brown, runs this craft fayre every year. The masonic hall was packed with tables and I enjoyed going around the stalls and persuading the stall holders to be photographed. (The images are on my Facebook page.)
A lot of the stall holders were doing their crafts as well as selling. Here is Jude, who is a talented artist. The eye of the dog was so alive on the page!
I had my lunch with food from Karen Ballantyne (who catered for Mum's 100th and her funeral). There were a lot of people I knew, many of whom are walkers. It was a happy occasion.
Back at home I have been knitting and taken a few phone calls. Margret has managed to use her new mobile which is great news.
She has no news about moving from the acute ward to the rehab ward at Addenbrookes. The current ward is noisy and her sleep is disturbed, so it is not ideal.
She is number 4 on the waiting list for a bed in Hexham.
The husband of a walking friend has died. The 11 year old son of friends is threatening suicide (and they are too far away for me to be of much use.) I am upset to hear how hard it is for them to access help. The child and adolescent mental health service says they can only see him after a suicide attempt. What?!
I have opened a bottle of wine and will knit this evening. It's very calming.
