Loweswater
The weather has been in the doldrums up here and my photographic enthusiasm likewise. Mostly we have been preparing for the house move, clearing stuff, selling stuff, delivering stuff.
Yesterday I tried a photographic restart with a trip to Loweswater. The autumn colours are still about although there seems to be a a strange mixture of trees which have dropped all their leaves and others where leaves are still green, I found oak trees with a mix of green/brown/yellow on the same leaf.
I found it hard to find a composition in the woodland without much light so I've gone for this shot of the colours from higher up.
Extras are a bird I can't recall seeing before - Fieldfares feeding on the berries, they were hard to get close to hence photo is not the best with the high ISO but it's here for the record.
Likewise a red squirrel at long range to prove they are still holding out, recently I've seen greys, I fear the reds will be gone in a few years.
